[edit] Singular / plural

For the categories with at least 10 members on 2006-10-11, the usage of a singular or plural name was considered. It turned out that, as opposed to the convention of the English Wikipedia, usually the singular was used. Therefore, for uniformity, plural names were changed to singular.

The passive voice doesn't identify who decided, who are you? Note how on Wikipedia, plural categories are for lists of things like wikipedia:Category:Cities, and sometimes singular is for the topic, e.g. wikipedia:Category:City. Ontologists come here thinking about is a" or "instance of", while Wikipedians think in terms of "Cities" as the class of City things, "City" as an idea. Maybe collectively, Wikipedians are smarter than ontologists ;-) -- Skierpage 23:40, 10 August 2007 (CEST)
