  • What are the in-built units of SMW?
  • Is there an existing database/ontology of the most common units? 217.117.47.110 16:09, 18 August 2006 (CEST)

You can search for the implemented Types using this link. You can look for the implemented units within the according articles. SMW doesn't support all kind of units - instead each type has another parser which does the unit handling - therefore a Lenght-Type will always be ie. metre or inch - but never a vector.
Thanks for this link - if I understand correct (from looking at the SMW source code), the base types are DateTime, Float, GeoCoords, Integer and URI, while the others are all derived types.
For the sake of completeness are there any plans to add enumeration types, tuples, lists and sets? Philip 11:59, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
If you look for a unit-Database you might best look at the original [http;//en.wikipedia.org Wikipedia] - for an ontology see the physics-subsection of my development-version Semantic MathML/0.1 (beware: I'm unhappy with it and will replace it with a new version anytime in the future) or better the SUMO Ontology. Anyway, the best Ontology for this purpose might be NASA's SWEET Ontology.

Thanks for the unit databases. I see things are still in a state of flux... Philip 11:59, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
