Help talk:Semantic templates
I just installed SMW on top of latest MW. I don't have pages like Template:Person installed, unless I copy them over 1 by 1, and even then, they don't seem to work. Could you document how we're supposed to get our templates set up? --82.32.5.17 03:30, 27 January 2007 (CET) danbri
- Templates are typically considered content, not part of the software. Is is better to select what you need instead of mass-copying. The special SMW features aside, templates should work without specially enabling them.--Patrick 03:55, 29 January 2007 (CET)
[edit] Refreshing pages using sematic templates
After adding an attribue to a semantic template, the annonated pages still do not display in sematic search results. A manual edit of each page solves this problem. Is there a way to rebuild the entire site, a list of pages or an entire category? Udi Oron
This would really be helpfull.--GunterS 16:02, 24 February 2007 (CET)
I found a way: Use the wikipediabot. There is a script called touch.py which you can use: touch.py -ref:Template:TemplateName --GunterS 23:14, 5 March 2007 (CET)
- I am new to this. Perhaps increasing the JobRunRate would help? See also meta:help:job queue. Hillgentleman 05:45, 10 December 2007 (CET)
[edit] New Parser function doesn't get picked up
I am trying to create functionality so that instead of having somedate:=Template:CurrentYear-Template:CurrentMonth-Template:CurrentDay I can have somedate:={{#thedate:+|1|d}}
Now i have created a new parser function to do this, and it works. However when I include it in an ask query, it doesn't work, but Template:CurrentYear-Template:CurrentMonth.... does
Any hints? 81.86.215.190 21:25, 20 June 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Not working after fresh install (MW 1.10)
The article still states "In current versions of Semantic MediaWiki, support for using annotations in templates has to be enabled by the site administrator as described in the INSTALL instructions, and thus might not be available by default.". How ever when reading the INSTALL and includes/SMW_Settings.php I come to the conclusion this is only necessary in MW 1.9 and older. The SMW_Settings.php also has a setting called $smwgEnableTemplateSupport, which is set to true already. Still, I can't get it working. I have a template with attributes, include that template into an article, the special:attributes don't list any articles, which the article that includes the template does show a factbox with the attributes. Any sugestions? What am I doing wrong? --Lode 04:15, 22 July 2007 (CEST)
