""IKS Semantic Search Workshop Announced for November 12-12, 2009 in Rome
The IKS Project is proud to announce the second community workshop of IKS, to take place on the 12th and 13th of November, 2009, in Rome. The theme of the workshop will be “Semantic Search - Fact and Fiction” and we invite anyone who has developed working systems and those who would like to deploy CMS with “semantic search inside”. Any developer who works on a Content Management System who is interested in adding semantic search is invited to attend.
The IKS project also recently released a report on the design of a semantic CMS system. The report includes the following needs for a CMS to be considered semantic:
(1) Finding relevant information fast, in different usage contexts (Semantic search) (2) Intelligent Content Authoring and Content Aggregating (Intelligent authoring) (3) Combining Content Services with Work Flows (Business Processes and content) (4) Customizing Content Services for Customer Groups/Channels (Multi-channel publishing) (5) Complex Content Aggregation for Product Configuration (Context-sensitive content) (6) Making events visible in ambient environments (Spatio-temporal, semantic content) (7) Building up business intelligence about the customer base (Community semantics)
You can find more information about both the Workshop and the Report at IKS' blog <http://www.iks-project.eu/news>. ""
