The UAB Institute of Law and Technology (IDT), formerly UAB Socio-Legal Studies Group (REDS, CNRS, CR n.1036; CIRIT GRC-2042-0 4), is a newly created Research Institute (CER-27-01-2005) to do interdisciplinary research in the domain of AI and Law, Law and Society and legal theory.
IDT focuses on the interaction between Law and Information Technologies (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to collect and analyze legal knowledge. It aims at developing practical solutions as well in the main areas of organization, decision-making and conflict resolution. Since 1994, the UAB GRES works in a video and multimedia environment.
The Institute is located in the main building of the Law School at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
