The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is an academic research and education institution resulting from a merger of the University of Karlsruhe and the research center Karlsruhe (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe). It is both a university of the state of Baden-Württemberg and a large-scale research center of the Helmholtz Association. It is the home of the institutes AIFB and KSRI that conduct much Semantic Web related research.
