He obtained his PhD from the University of Grenoble in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Christine Collet and Dr. Genoveva Vargas Solar.   • Short CV: (up to 5 rows) Giorgos Stoilos obtained his Bachelor in Computer Science and Telecommunication in 2003 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently he is a PhD student in the National and Technical University of Athens. His research interests include certain and uncertain knowledge representation and reasoning, multimedia ontologies, semantic interoperability and ontology alignment. He is a member of the W3C Rule Interchange Format (RIF) Working Group, a member of the W3C Uncertainty Reasoning for the WWW (UR3W) Incubator Group and a member of the Fuzzy RuleML Technical Group.

  • Short CV: Dr Oscar Corcho is working as a Marie Curie fellow at the Information Management Group of the University of Manchester. Previously, he has worked at iSOCO as a research manager and at the Ontological Engineering Group of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). His research activities include the Semantic Grid, the Semantic Web and Ontological Engineering. Currently he participates at the EU FP6 IST project OntoGrid (FP6-511513), where the University of Manchester has proposed the S-OGSA architecture for Semantic Grid applications. He has published the books "Ontological Engineering" and "A layered declarative approach to ontology translation with knowledge preservation", over 30 journal and conference/workshop papers.

  • Short CV: Roberta Cuel holds a Ph.D. in “Organization and Management of the Firms” (2003). She was a post-doc fellow at the University of Verona. Currently, she works in the Net Economy Group at the department of computer and management science of the University of Trento. Her research interests include: the study of KM and knowledge representation systems (such as ontologies, classifications) as mechanisms for knowledge reification processes. Her main interests are in IE, robust and adaptable tools for language engineering, terminology, evaluation and accessibility of technology.   • Short CV: nud Möller is a PhD student and research assistant at DERI, NUIG, where he works under Dr. Siegfried Handschuh. Knud has an MA degree in Computational Linguistics, English and Scandinavian Languages from the Universität zu Köln (University of Cologne), Germany, and has also studied for 1 1/2 years at the institute for linguistics at Universitetet i Bergen (University of Bergen), Norway. He has a strong interest in Semantic Annotation, Blogging and Publishin, and has published a number of papers in this area. He currently works within the Nepomuk EU project, where he is looking into building light-weight Semantic Desktop applications.

  • Short CV: Dr. York Sure is an assistant professor (C1) at the Institute AIFB of the University of Karlsruhe in Germany where he lectures master and bachelor courses on Semantic Web and Computer Science. After graduating in December 1999 in Industrial Engineering he received in May 2003 his PhD in Computer Science. From June to September 2006 York was appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University. Recently he was awarded with the IBM UIMA Innovation Award 2006.

  • Short CV: Max Völkel is working as a PhD student and Research Assistant at the Forschungzentrum für Informatik (FZI) at the Universität Karlsruhe(TH).   • Short CV: Pavel Shvaiko is a research fellow at the University of Trento. He obtained his PhD in 2006 at DIT UniTn with the dissertation “Iterative schema-based semantic matching”. He has co-authored and co-edited a number of books (including the “ontology matching” book), contributed to, and published in various international journals, conferences and workshops, run a number of international initiatives and special issues in top international journals as well as gave tutorials in the fields of Semantic Web, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Systems on the themes of ontology matching.

Recently, he has been actively involved in planning and realisation of research within the Knowledge Web project, namely concerning the ontology dynamics topic. He is also working in Nepomuk project, helping with the semantic desktop ontology infrastructure development. Besides these activities, his primary research aims at development of alternative (non-logical) semantics paradigm for reasoning with automatically extracted knowledge. He is the principal author of several workshop and conference papers related to his research interests.
