[edit] Overview
OntoStudio is the most widespread commercial modeling environment for the creation and maintenance of ontologies. It distinguishes itself through comprehensive functions in intuitive ontology modeling. OntoStudio also has the ability to import many structures, schemas and models. Among the most important functions are the mapping tool, the graphic rule editor and the integrated test environment. With the mapping tool it is possible to map heterogeneous structures onto each other quickly and intuitively. The graphic rule editor and the integrated test environment assures the quality of the modeling.
With OntoStudio, several editors can provide and extend ontologies at the same time by using the OntoBroker Collaboration server. Queries can be exported as web services and be integrated into any application.
The NeOn Toolkit is an open source licensed version of this tool.
