So ontoworld.org has finally been split properly into three wikis:

ontoworld.org is obsolete, it's a hostname alias(?) for www.semanticweb.org

[edit] Help pages and semantic-mediawiki.org

Denny exported and imported the help pages and all pages in Category:Semantic MediaWiki to semantic-mediawiki.org in December 2007. In early 2008 skierpage replaced most on ontoworld.org with Template:MovedToSemantic-MediaWiki.org with summary "mark as moved".

Use the interwiki prefix smw: to refer to pages on semantic-mediawiki.org.

You can still discuss the SMW help in their Talk: ("discussion") pages here, or better join the smw:Semantic MediaWiki mailing lists.

[edit] test pages and sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org

Around April 15 2008, ontoworld.org became semanticweb.org and all content was copied to http://sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org

Test pages should be deleted from this server (semanticweb.org). If you don't have delete rights, replace the page contents with

[[Category:Sandbox pages to delete]]
{{MovedToSandbox.Semantic-MediaWiki.org}}

See Template:MovedToSandbox.Semantic-MediaWiki.org and Category:Sandbox pages to delete

Some Semantic Web explorations on semanticweb.org have complicated sets of examples and testcases. Those should be deleted here, except the "topmost" or "starting page" should remain on semanticweb.org, and can refer to its equivalent page on sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org using Template:see sandbox site.

Conversely, event pages and semantic web information is not test data, it belongs here on semanticweb.org. So it should be deleted on sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org. Two copies of something just leads to confusion!

  • I slightly disagree: to be able to run complex queries and tests, sandbox should have as much interlinked semantic content as possible. Maybe we could add a disclaimer template to those pages in sandbox referring to the 'proper' page where the content should be maintained primarily. --Heiko
Good idea, could create a semanticweb site|Template:See semanticweb site there that has this disclaimer.
