Template:Vocabulary
This template simplifies the creation of articles about Semantic Web vocabularies and (to some extent) ontologies. When inserted in a page, it creates a decorative table with much helpful information. It also takes care of annotating the given data semantically, so that users can easily find it or query it in other articles. Do not try to read this page's source code for learning table syntax – there are far easier ways of creating tables in MediaWiki.
To use this template, insert the following at the beginning of your user page. All fields are strictly optional and should be omitted if no data is given.
{{Vocabulary|
Name=The full name of the vocabulary/ontology, otherwise pagename|
Homepage=URL of the vocabulary's home page, without "http://"|
Homepage label=Short text for homepage, if URL is too long|
Release=last date when a new version of the ontology was released|
Revision=last date when (parts of) the ontology was revised, may indicate "minor releases"|
Namespace=main namespace prefix (should be representative for usage)|
Namespace label=optional printed label for namespace, might include breakable space to avoid long lines|
Swoogle namespace=optional URI for the namespace searched in Swoogle (might require urlencoding for some symbols)|
Swoogle hits=number of times the namespace is found in used by Swoogle, read below|
Formalism=what is the most specific formal language the vocabulary/ontology is compatible to?
}}
The order of the fields is not relevant. The template should be given as the first thing on a page. Swoogle hits, release and revision dates are optional, but might be considered in automatically generated listings of vocabularies, e.g. to show only established, widely used ontologies.
